As a classically trained chef from Rome, Andrea wanted to share his love for authentic Italian cuisine, particularly the fresh, handmade pasta. And so he created Onda Pasta. Onda means “wave” in Italian and reflects the merging of the two cultures—his love of Italy and Hawai‘i and the cuisine that’s crafted from both regions. Combining the highest quality flour imported from Italy with locally souced eggs and produce that support local agriculture, he offers homemade fresh pasta and sauces—granma style! Graduating at 19 years old from culinary school to becoming Headchef at Bevy, a hip restaurant in Kakaʻako and continuing on as a food consultant in various locations around the world, its safe to say food has embossed Andreas life. From Italy to Hawaii Andrea has hade the pleasure of working with various cuisnes and ingredients. Originally from Rome, with over 20 years of experience he founded Onda Pasta to leave his footprint in the culinary world, and give the people of Hawaii an authentic experience of Italian cuisen.
Andrea says it best "- its not just about the food it is about contributing to the warm and loving community of all parts of the island. Giving people a quality product to affordable prices was always my main goal."
Working as a chef in both Europe and the states, he gained the knowledge of starting his own business and the skill to develop the recipe of what makes Onda Pasta such a unique product with a devoted and supporting customerbase.
Together with his daughter Alba they keep running Onda Pasta and being an essential part of the Hawaiian society, providing both food and a caring and passionate energy to everyone around.
